How did I save $100 without even trying? It's this genius little app called Qapital. You can set up rules after you link your checking account to round up your debit card purchases to the nearest $1, $2, etc. I have mine set up for the nearest dollar. So If I buy a coffee for $4.50, it deposits 50 cents into my Qapital savings account! those small cents I won't really miss so it adds up!
Qapital is free to download but does have a monthly membership. I use the Basic for $3 a month - I am saving that much on a weekly basis so it's worth it to me! They also have a FREE 30 day trial that you can use as well.
Since I have cash envelopes, it took me about 2.5 months to reach $100 in savings for my upcoming vacation this year.
How it works:
Link your checking account and set up your rules. That's basically it. a couple times a week it will transfer your "roundups". This way you don't have a gazillion transfers coming out of your account every day.
YOU CAN PAUSE TRANSFERS!!!
If your checking account dips below $100, Qapital will automatically pause transfers until you have sufficient funds. So if you live a zero-based budget, this probably won't work for you.
You can also pause transfers yourself as well. This was great if I knew I was going to have a lot of debit card purchases and didn't want any more transfers.
If you want to sign up and try it, use my referral link and we will both get $5! Click here to sign up!
