Budgeting is hella important. YOU need to tell YOUR money where to go. My personal way of budgeting my money is by paycheck. Certain bills come out on a certain day, and I am glad I can schedule them. I try to pay ALL my bills on the first paycheck of the month. Then my 2nd paycheck is for my debt snowball.
As you can see, I plan ahead so I know how much of my debt snowball I can pay off. Nowadays, I can't go a day without looking at my budget. It is SO nice knowing how much money I will have in my bank account. And having $1,000 in my EF makes me feel extremely happy and ready for an emergency.
I should mention that I still live at home, so I don't have to worry about paying rent or other expenses. Living at home is helping me pay off my debt quickly so that I can be able to move out and not worry about all the bills I would have to pay. Currently I am paying about $560 in minimum payments to my debt. If I got rid of ALL of my credit card debt, I will only pay $220 to my student loan. Now THAT is something I can work with if I move out. This debt free journey is challenging, and I definitely still slip up and buy something that I want rather than need.
I am done with debt controlling my life.
