I keep forgetting that tax returns are coming soon! I've been planning my paycheck budgets around exactly that- my paychecks. So I think I will put it all into my emergency fund. I am planning on traveling quite a bit this year so a beefy emergency fund will help me feel at ease.
In the past, I would blow my tax return in a matter of weeks, even days. If I stash it in my savings I know it will be hard to keep it there, but I know I need that money for emergencies.
I've been noticing that my shopping has definitely died down. Since starting this journey, I am more aware of what my money is doing. I know if something is going to come out or if a one-off bill is coming up. My planning skills have helped a lot. I can't believe that this time last year I had 3 more credit cards I was making payments on.
I am going to get REAL right now. Dave Ramsey changed my life, yes. I plan on buying a car in cash someday. I know I won't be using my credits cards (as heavy) as I used to do. I don't know if I will ever be able to not use a credit card. Hotels put a charge hold on my debit card if I use it for the reservation, but they won't on a credit card...*rolls eyes*.
I am still only 22 years old. I still live at home. I need to buy a house someday and I need a good credit score.
Does anyone else feel like they can't go "full Dave" or is that just a dumb feeling I am having?
